Welcome to Reach Out & Recover – ROAR

Hi and welcome to ROAR. We are non-for-profit, support in the community organisation, offering our service users a safe, secure and stable environment in which they can start to tackle their addictions and personal issues.

Based in Macclesfield, we are a 9 bed recovery housing project offering a safe, secure, stable 24 hour supported environment for people to reside.

Those who access our service are shown compassion, given hope and a place where they can begin to believe in themselves. We empower people to take control of their lives and help them to develop practical skills whilst working in the community.

Service users are allocated tasks and responsibilities based on their strengths and skills. We work in partnership with other community based organisations in order to give the people within R.O.A.R the best opportunity at addressing their issues, and in turn, prevent re offending.

Those who follow our programme are offered a pathway to a new life. From early stage 24 hour support, toward supported accommodation and finally, their own independent tenancies.

*Please note we do accept people who are on an opiate substitute prescription who are willing to do a reduction plan.

Next Step Accommodation and
onwards to tenancy

Service users who follow our program can enter into ‘Next step accommodation’. During this period, service users work with our volunteer co-ordinators and are engaged in ongoing work experience, education and training. We continue to help our service users offering weekly check-in groups and floating support.

This process allows service users to become accustomed to living independently. This is often the first step for many of them in taking responsibility for their lives.

Whilst taking these first steps forward, service users can continue to access our help and guidance when needed. Those who follow our ‘Next step’ program for a year or more, can (if they wish) move on toward their own tenancies.

Once in their own tenancies, service users will be referred through to floating support, they will still be offered a key worker, they will be supported with the move and setting up in their new homes.

We always encourage all of our service users to keep connected with ourselves and peers. Our door is always open to them for them to call in at any time and always feel welcome.

What we believe

"We believe there is much more to recovery than just putting your substance down. It is a package, which involves addressing deep rooted issues often from some form of childhood trauma, changing your behaviours and thinking styles in order to progress with confidence onto learning new skills and re-joining the community as a positive member"
